A week of walking and culture in Girona and Roses, Spain - April 2024 Photos of our visit to Girona and Roses now uploaded to our site. Girona is a city in Catalonia, in north-eastern Spain, on the banks of the Onyar river. It is famous for its medieval architecture, its walled Old Quarter (Barri Vell) and the Roman ruins of the Força Vella fortress. The city is also vibrant and full of colour, attracting not just tourists like us but cyclists ever since the now infamous Lance Armstrong moved and trained here in 200, and fans of the Game of Thrones series as many streets and buildings served as places in Braavos and King's Landing in Series 6. Photos of our walking in the Alpes Maritines with Sue and Nick, October 2022, now uploaded to our site. We spent two weeks in a super gite situated in the hills above Grasse in the Alpes Maritime/Cote d'Azur. Sue and Nick flew in to Nice and joined us for the second week fo some excellent walking, or 'fat camp' as Nick insisted on calling it.View photos here…....
