We’re often asked about the weather here. The forecast below is for Marminiac, although our nearest weather station is Gourdon, about 13 km away.
The weather can vary surprisingly across the area, with quite different conditions from one valley to another. As a result, the forecast is best treated as a useful guide rather than an exact picture of what is happening at Maradene.
We generally enjoy considerably more sunshine than in the UK, and even in winter a sunny day can warm up quickly. Nights can be very cold, however. In recent years the summers have become much hotter, with temperatures reaching 40°C far too often for our liking. At that point it becomes too hot to do much outdoors during the day. Snow is supposed to be unusual, although in our experience it turns up often enough — and occasionally leaves us snowed in for a few days.
